Please join us every Fourth Tuesday at 10am for BizFed's Transportation Committee meeting. We have an incredible meeting planned to discuss and take action on federal, state and local transportation policies and projects.
This year BizFed will have a brand-new committee that will investigate and advocate for changes to one of the most important regulations that affects the State’s economy in CEQA. At the end of 2017 the State’s Office of Planning and Research proposed draft policy and language changes to the CEQA which will impact many of the investments we are making in Housing and Transportation.
Jennifer Hernandez, Holland & Knight, Larry Kosmont, Kosmont Companies and Will Wright, AIA will lead our CEQA Committee by tackling these CEQA changes to the regulation and identify opportunities to streamline the process and remove CEQA abuse. These abuses are responsible for stopping and delaying over 40% of the projects in our State through lawsuits. These delays create uncertainty to the State’s economy and exacerbates the State’s housing crisis through the increased cost of building more housing thus making housing more unaffordable and delays fixing critical transportation infrastructure projects that help move people and goods which reduces jobs.
Come join us at our Labor and Small Business Committee meeting, where we address policy issues facing labor and small business on the local, state, and federal level.
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month. If you have any items you would like to see this committee review, please send those to Sarah.Wiltfong@bizfed.org 1 week prior to the meeting.
